Welcome to the Norseman Creative’s 2025 Quarter 2 Update! The blog had a great quarter. I stuck to my writing schedule (for the most part), and managed to turn out a new article basically every Wednesday. I wrapped up several projects, started one or two more, and have a lot more coming, so stay tuned!
Of course, the biggest news is I released my latest children’s book, Rosie and the Missing Squishy, in June. The book is available through Amazon and the Norseman Creative shop, and they are the same price in either spot. The books that come from my shop are signed by both me and my illustrator, Madi, so I think they’re probably worth at least six or seven times as much. Possibly more!

Earlier this quarter, I wrapped up my series covering my Axis Deer Hunt on Molokai. Those three days running around Molokai were some of the most grueling but most fun I have had in a long time. I can’t say enough good things about Brian of Kailea Outdoors, he and his apprentice, Blaze, really made the trip worth the money. I learned a lot, and if/when I go back to Molokai to chase Axis deer, I will have a different adventure than I had this go round.

I also finished up my series about our trip to New Zealand we took in March 2024. What a breathtaking and amazing country to explore. Jenny and I absolutely intend to return someday, and we cannot recommend taking a trip there enough. If you want to experience an overwhelming level of beauty and peace, give New Zealand a try. If you prefer the hustle and bustle of a city, go to Saint Louis or something. I do still have one more article to push out related to that trip, but not covering the trip exactly, so be looking for that shortly.

Over the past year, I have really started getting back into practical shooting competitions, particularly USPSA. Last weekend, I shot in the Aloha State Games at the Koko Head Shooting Complex on Oahu. It was quite fun, and it led me to think I should start up a series that covers some USPSA pointers I have learned over the years, as well as analysis of my matches, particularly when something interesting happens. Practical shooting is a really fun hobby, particularly if you have a pistol and are bored of standing still and shooting at a paper target.

The Norseman Creative YouTube Channel is predominantly dedicated to match footage. I used to put music over it, but I’ve stopped doing that. I found the music to be distracting, as I film the matches to go back over and see what I did right or wrong. The music was originally intended to cover up distracting exclamations and other noises. It turns out that some of those noises help me diagnose what I did wrong, especially since I tend to say it out loud right after I did it.
Thanks for reading this quarter! I look forward to sharing more articles with you as time goes on. Be looking for the next article next week! Hopefully, you get your money’s worth reading Norseman Creative. If you do, swing by the shop, buy a book (or two), and let me know what you think!
