October ’22 Update

First, I want to thank everyone who kept up with the Round 3 Series. I had a blast reflecting and writing out my thoughts and experiences. This last deployment had so many story worthy moments that I may return to my journal I kept during that time and see what other stories could be written down, possibly in a different format. I could have written a thousand stories about the Airmen that I served with and the circumstances we found ourselves in, but all things must find their end.

Next, Jenny and I moved to Hawaii. I started my role as Detachment Cadre for Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 175 at University of Hawaii Manoa. I have really wanted this job since a late-night conversation over beers in a Fort Bliss parking lot in the “long ago.” During this conversation, some NCOs and Airmen really spurred me to pursue making the USAF Officer Corps better, and what better avenue (and location) than getting them right at the source, as cadets. I will most likely not be telling a whole lot of stories about the Cadets of Det 175, as using them as fodder for content is treading dangerously close to being a “Military Influencer.” I try to stay on the light side of that particular line, and have been waging my own personal war against Military Officers who use Tik-Tok for attention rather than learning and/or doing their job.

I also have an office to myself for the first time ever so I get to decorate.

With regard to the Frozen Reaction Sequel, Retrograde Reaction, I spoke with the publisher recently, and the book is still being looked over for viability and with some beta readers for comments. The good news is that it will more than likely get picked up for publication, and I am eagerly awaiting the Beta Readers’ comments. In the meantime, book three in the Norseman Consulting saga has begun, although not in earnest. Just a few ideas that started to come together that may or may not have made it onto a page.

I have been working on a piece of historical fiction off and on for the past several years that takes place in Oman during their civil war in the 1970s. I am still working on it, and am considering releasing a few chapters here to allow my readers to provide feedback and commentary. I think that particular war is fascinating for a number of reasons, and it occupies a significant amount of space in my head. Since a large chunk of that book is written already, I think I will sporadically push out chapters through the blog, with some historical chapters as well.

Finally, there are just a ton of smaller or lesser developed projects in the works. I will be introducing them and rolling them out as I get each project to a point that I am comfortable with.

Thank you all for your readership!
