October 2021 Update

Greetings, intrepid reader. I hope this post finds you well. I wanted to take a couple minutes of your time to push an update. The writing on this blog have become noticeably thinner, and I assure you there is a decent reason for that. First, updates!

My second children’s book was published a couple months ago. It was written for some very close friends who just were blessed with their first child. Rajah’s ABCs follows Rajah, the American Staffordshire Terrier medical alert dog (and Calvin’s girlfriend), as she goes about her day. My extremely talented cousin, Madison, illustrated this project and she absolutely killed it! I haven’t advertised the book much because I wanted to get it to the friends for which it was written first, also I hate advertising for my own stuff. But the book is out, its $10 on Amazon, beautifully illustrated, and you should buy it.

Next, I have to let you know that purchases from the Norseman Creative store are going to be reaaaallllllly slow. Maybe 6 to 8 months delayed. I had to step away from my little home workshop for a bit. Way away. Out of the country away. If you know me, and you watch the news, you could maybe parse out roughly where I am. There will be a series of blog posts written about my experience here at the “end” of the Global War on Terror, so look for those in late spring or whenever I release them.

Additionally, I have received a lot of questions about a sequel to my novel, Frozen Reaction. I began work on the sequel, tentatively titled “Nomad Actual,” shortly after Frozen Reaction was released, but it was slow going and somewhat uninspired. Due to recent events, that storyline is being shelved temporarily until I can write a different story that has percolated. I have yet to title that effort, or even actually write it. All I know for this new story is how it will start and how it will end, I have to figure out all the stuff in the middle.

Finally, among my many writing projects is a historical fiction novel about a little known civil war and counterinsurgency operation. It ranks among the most successful ever in history, yet very few people have heard about the Omani Civil War, or Dhofar War. I was fascinated by stories of that conflict while I visited Oman a few years ago, and I started working on this novel immediately after sending Frozen Reaction off for edits. At this time, the novel is titled “The Dhofar Redemption,” and if I buckle down and keep to my writing schedule I should have a draft ready before the end of this year.

That’s pretty much it for now, keep watching this space for more creative updates. They might be few and far between, but they are coming.
